Academics

Families from across greater Louisville come to Saint Gabriel School for an outstanding coeducational, Catholic experience. From our preschool through grade 8, you’ll find rigorous academics and abundant opportunities for holistic and spiritual growth.

Saint Gabriel School was awarded the National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award in 2015 by the U.S. Department of Education.  The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes the top 15% public and private elementary, middle, and high schools nationally.

Our graduates are equipped with skills to help them be successful and productive citizens in a global environment.  Key skills include development of creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration.  Our students become lifelong learners where the possibilities are endless!

With an average of 15 years of experience and many with advanced degrees, our faculty and staff are highly trained to provide an excellent educational experience for your child.  Our teachers use hands-on, minds-on learning opportunities to foster interactive experiences.  From mock simulations of refugee camps to building rockets or designing 3D models of animal adaptations to paper maché our students are participants in their own learning.  Meet the teachers here.

Our school utilizes the Archdiocese of Louisville curriculum.  Core courses for students include Religion, Mathematics, Language Arts (to include Reading/Literature, English, Phonics, Spelling, Vocabulary, and K-3 Handwriting), Science, and Social Studies.

Students in grades K-8 participate in Unique classes including Art, Music, Physical Education, STEM, Spanish, and Library.  Students in Kindergarten participate in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, which is a montessori-based program to introduce young children to the Catholic values and mass.  Students in grades 7 & 8 participate in two electives per year in addition to Spanish and Physical Education.
