About Our Teacher

Biography:

I was born and raised here in Louisville and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else!  I have been married to my husband, Josh, for a year and a half and we live in a cozy little apartment in St. Matthews with our Himalayan cat, Maxwell.  I love spending time with my family (I’m a proud Palmer-Ball!), eating at all of the delicious restaurants around town (Taco Luchador and Mussel and Burger Bar are two of my favorites!), exploring the great outdoors, taking pictures with my Nikon D5100, collecting children’s books, and watching scary movies.

I have been teaching at St. Gabriel Preschool for two years now and I love my job!  It is a gift to have a job where I can help the children learn and grow throughout the first year of their educational journey.  The children remind me to enjoy the little things in each day!

Classroom/Teaching Goals:

Throughout the year, some of the skills we will work on are letter recognition, number recognition, proper pencil grip, writing skills, and cutting skills.  The students will also work on fine and gross motor skills as they explore the different centers in the classroom.  Academic subjects such as Math, Science Social Studies, and Spanish will be introduced in the Splash into Pre-K curriculum.  Socialization skills will develop as students play and interact with each other each day.  During morning meeting, students will learn respect as they recite the pledge and prayer.  By the end of the school year, the children will be prepared to move on to Kindergarten and further their educational journey!
