Incorporated into Christ by Baptism, the person baptized is configured to Christ. Baptism seals the Christian with the indelible spiritual mark of his belonging to Christ. No sin can erase this mark, even if sin prevents Baptism from bearing the fruits of salvation. Given once for all, Baptism cannot be repeated.
St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish welcomes you and your child into the Church and a life of following Jesus Christ through the Sacrament of Baptism. Typically, the Church encourages Baptism in the first year of life, though one can be baptized at any age.
Baptism by Age
- Infants are typically baptized during their first year; however all children of pre-catechumenate age are welcome.
- Children and youth age of catechumenate age (7 years of age+) who have not yet been baptized should participate in Children’s Initiation (adapted Rites of RCIA).
- Adults 18 yrs. and older must participate in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).
