Covid-19 Update until June 2021

COVID 19 Impact on St. Gabriel

Our number one priority in reopening to the public is your safety from the COVID-19 virus. Since it is such a large undertaking, we are taking every precaution to ensure your healthy and safety, and to “keep the curve flat.”  We commit to ensuring that our reopening complies with the social distancing guidelines as instructed through the Archdiocese of Louisville, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and the Federal Center for Disease Control. (CDC). As you might also guess, the need for proactive distancing, PPE, masks, disinfectant, training of staff and volunteers, maintaining respect for the Eucharist, providing adequate staffing at Masses, establishing checkpoints and security, among all other issues were examined.

In these times, we must keep the faith.

Mass Intentions
The tradition of offering Masses for others, particularly the dead, originates in the days of the early church. We continue that tradition to this day with mass intentions, requested and scheduled through our office, by our parishioners for their lost loved ones or other intentions. Throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, we — specifically our clergy– have continued to offer up prayer intentions for parishioners and for the response of the soul of their loved ones, this has included daily intercessions and intentions at the Masses celebrated by Fr. John, both private and those shared on the Facebook livestream.  A mass intention can be offered for one person or intention per Mass. A contribution is accepted when you schedule a mass intention. You can select specific masses and dates, as available. If you would like to schedule a mass intention, contact our Parish Office Front Desk via phone 502-239-5481, email at or in-person.
