Lindsey Hastings (Class of 2006) participated in the KY Junior Academy of Science Competition on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at U of K. She won first place in Microbiology. Lindsey competes the weekend of April 25th at Western Kentucky University, then on to INTEL on May 11th.
Melia Freville (Class of 2004) has been accepted into the University of Louisville's Dental School.
Grant Laswell (grad), brother of Jillian Laswell (7^th Grade), is enlisted in the Army. He currently is at Ft. Knox , then on to Ft. Hood , then on to Iraq .
Congratulations to Lindsey Hastings who won first place for duPont Manual in the "Science Olympiad" held at Ballard High School last weekend for an area called "Disease Detectives". She credits Mrs. Fulk for keeping her interested and focused. She also competed in the annual duPont Manual Science Fair held at the University of Louisville, and while she did not win, it was a great experience.
Congratulations to Jeffrey Geiger ('02) who has been given a Presidential Scholarship to U of L Speed School and is enrolled for Fall, 2006 in the Honors Program.
St. Gabriel Alum Excel at State Track Meet : Dominique Lyons (�02) of Assumption High School placed first in the long jump and third in the triple jump at the Class AAA Kentucky State track meet. Paul Thomas (�03) was part of the St. Xavier 800 M relay and 400 M relay teams that each placed first in the Class AAA state meet. They set a state record in the 800 relay at 1:28.60, besting the mark of 1:28.91 set in 1982. Both Dominique and Paul began their track careers at St. Gabriel School. Dominique plans to continue her track career next fall at University of Cincinnati.
Lauren Barnett, Kelly Geiger, Allison Stovall, Daniel Herth and Claire Wolken (Class of 2003) all of whom were selected for the Governor's Scholars Program.
Lindsay Oberhausen and Anthony Blake (Class of 2005) are freshmen at Fern Creek High School where they both are making the Principal's List - way to go! Keep up the good work!
Jessie Smith (Class of 1997) graduates this spring from NKU, with a major in Theatre and a minor in Dance. She is moving home for at least the summer, but will probably relocate to Cinci one day. Her goal in life is to be the best stay at home mom in the world - no kidding. She wants to stay home during the days and perform in theatre at night. Of course, there are plenty of things to do before then, too. Lately she's been thinking of getting a master's in education. Congrats and good luck!
Emily Badgett (SGS Class of 2002) has accepted an academic scholarship from Indiana University and has been accepted into their Hutton Honors College! She has been afforded the opportunity to work on most of her freshman credits online and will start as a sophmore!! Yeah!! She is so excited and can't wait to get going. Molly Rose (Lindsay) from the Class of 1986 is living in Charlestown, IN (a whopping 20 minutes from Louisville) with her husband and four lunatic dogs. She is a bankruptcy attorney, and claims middle age has not been kind to her midriff. She toured St. Gs a couple years ago with Kristen Olberz (also a former student of St. G's). They checked out the tiny toilet in the bathroom near the stairs, and reminisced that the cafeteria smelled remarkably the same as it did over a decade prior.
