thanks  Thank You To:

  • Fall Festival Crew! - Thanks to everyone that had a hand in the Chili Supper last Saturday. The night was probably the most successful that can be recalled, it is easily the best crowd we’ve had in years. Those waiting in line were patient, gracious and greatful.

Special thanks to go to “Joe Gandia”, our own Chef Ramsey. Also special thanks go to Chef Joe’s “Hell’s Kitchen” workers, Fred Fox, Mark Frederick, Matt Babey, Mike Book & myself. Thanks guys, very much appreciative for your commitment and effort. Joe and Fred, many kudos, lots of applause, we appreciate you.

Thanks go out to Sandy & Tim Bradley for their commitment to helping organize workers and clean-up. To Stacey Hobbs & Lynda-Bolt Jones for recruiting workers and then pitching in with their help to help things run smoothly. Missy Pittman for handling the treasurer & money room duties. Stacy Book for her yearly commitment to organize and put the auction baskets together, Lisa Lauder for organizing the serving line workers & Denise Chancellor for getting the students lined up to help with clean-up. To Lisa Leister for getting our message out on the marquee, to Peggy Sermersheim & Tammy Goodlett for getting the announcements & flyers out to the students. Thanks go to Sheryl Kremer for getting the message out on the school website. Thanks go to to Pat Lynch and the Youth Group for the Haunted House. To Inez & Dave White for the Treat with the Saints. Thanks go to Terry in the concessions in the gym, the Athletic Department had a successful night as well. Thanks go to Emilie Pinto-Schmeling for finding Doktor Kaboom. Thanks to Tim McGinty who pitched in with clean-up, Café & Gym. There were others that pitched in as well, Kelli & Jeff Lamaster, Steve Simpson and many more, sorry, I can’t remember all. And a very special thanks goes out to Mike Book.Stacy has to get some of this credit as well.

Bottom line, it was not only great for the Parish and School, it was a financial success as well. I know that it was not the ultimate goal here, but we easily doubled, quite possibly may have tripled last year’s fundraising, so that is fabulous. The weather was great, the event was advertised well, we had great numbers in attendance, and I attribute it to “Chef Joe’s” Chili, good stuff, who wouldn’t want a bowl. I would also like to thank the teachers for helping man the food line. Thanks Kelly for the excellent communication and everything you do as well for the school.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this a great night. Myself, the School and the Parish are very greatful.

  • Library Thank you! to everyone who supported the Scholastic Book fair. The library earned a cash profit of $1499.00 and a book profit of $300. The cash profit will be used to purchase hard back books for the collection. The next book fair is in March during conferences. Students who wish to participate in the Outstanding Catholic Reader program can sign up and receive the reading list during library periods. Also parents or students can print out the reading list from the school website and then email Mrs. Herbert(therbert@stgabriel.net ) and let her know you are participating. OCR books are available in the school library.
  • Thank you to Marjorie Foushee for her donation of books to our Library.
  • All those who make donations or offer works of kindness that we receive at St. Gabriel
