Welcome!  We are excited that you are visiting St. Gabriel School today!  You will soon discover that St. Gabriel is a great place to be. At St. Gabriel you will find an active, supportive community of teachers, administrators, and parents who believe in the social, academic and spiritual development of your child.  Your child will grow and learn in a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels almost "like home".  Our staff is dedicated to academic excellence and works hard to meet every child's needs, helping each child to advance in a comfortable and happy surrounding.  With special training in the areas of  technology, curriculum development, and special needs, our staff strives to stay abreast of the "best" advances in the world of education.

Mission Statement

We the people of St. Gabriel value the opportunity and ability to educate the whole child by recognizing individual needs. This is accomplished by promoting spiritual development, service to the community, advancements in the areas of technology, curriculum, and campus enhancements aided by our continued growth as individuals, professionals, and as a faith community.

St. Gabriel is located in the south central Jefferson County suburban community of Fern Creek, a suburb of the Greater Louisville Metropolitan area.

St. Gabriel The Archangel Catholic School is one of thirty nine elementary schools in the Louisville, KY Archdiocese School System. We are Catholic in outlook and practice.

Facilities
With approximately 800 students, St. Gabriel houses:

Faculty

Media Center / Computer Lab
Students check out books weekly using Alexandria, an automated library system	Our Media Center contains nearly 16,000 books and Audio/Visual items. The library is fully-computerized with automated book check-out and 12 student workstations, an LCD projector and Smart Board, as well as a state of the art video studio which produces daily closed-circuit broadcasts.
The adjoining computer lab houses over 50 workstations, a smart board and LCD projector, scanners, and digital cameras.  Library and computer skills instruction are facilitated.
	Students attend weekly classes held in the 67 unit computer  lab / media center

Lead by art teacher, Cathy Balbach, students learn the fine "art"
of expressing themselves through various artistic medium.

St. Gabriel boasts a comprehensive religious and academic program with specialty area instruction in computers, music, physical education, art, spanish, guidance and library.  The entire campus is fully networked with a fiber-optic backbone to ensure speed, and students have filtered internet access in every classroom through a full T-1 connection.  All classrooms contain at least two computers each, allowing students and faculty to access networked files anywhere in the building. We follow the Curriculum Guidelines of the Archdiocese of Louisville.
