Introduction
The Jefferson Memorial is a dome-shaped rotunda. it honors the third president of the United States, which was Thomas Jefferson. This memorial is one of the most impressive sights in Washington.

Interesting Facts
                 Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13, 1743 in Shadwell, Virginia. Jefferson was a Virginia lawyer, he was a delegate to the Continental Congress. Thomas Jefferson was elected the third president of the United States. His father was a surveyor and a planter in Albemarle County, Virginia. at the age of 9, Jefferson began attending a school that was local, it was run by a Scottish minister named William Douglas.
                  The Jefferson Memorial was dedicated to Jefferson on his 200th anniversary birthday in 1943. The 19 foot tall Thomas Jefferson statue is located in the center of the memorial. it is located on the south side of Tidal Basin. This beautiful monument is surronded by cherry trees.
