Introduction

They first started to build the White House in 1792. President George Washington was overseeing the building of the White House but never lived in it. It was finished in 1800 and John Adams was the first to live in it. It has survived two fires, one in 1814 and another one in 1929. There are 35 bathrooms, 6 floors and 132 rooms. The white house has a theater, jogging track, swimming pool, bowling alley, and a tennis court.
