Ford's Theater and Peterson House
Introduction
The Ford's Theater and Peterson was built in 1859. The Ford Theater and The Peterson House are very ideal with the
story of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln's Death. John Wilkes Booth
had the idea to kill Lincoln at the Ford Theater while he was watching
the play Our American Cousin.
After Lincoln was shot he was brought to the Peterson house to be
revived. He died the next morning. Many years later is was closed and
not open to the public. Then they re-opened it was a Theater for people
to see reenactments of the death of Abraham Lincoln. the Peterson House
is now a museum for people to see the Romm where Abraham Lincoln's
death occured.

Interesting Facts
~ After the assassination Congress payed Ford $100,000 in compensation,
and an order was issued forever prohibiting its use as a place of
public amusement.
~ Later Ford's Theater was renovated and used as a warehouse and a office building.
~ It was later once again renovated and reopened as a theater during that 1960s.
~ this is the house where Abraham Lincoln died after being shot.
