The Battle of Gettysburg Day One
Introduction
The
Battle of Gettysburg was an unplanned battle between the
Confederate army of General Robert E. Lee and the Northern Army of
General George G. Meade took place in July of 1863. Two armies
meet by chance when a forgaing bridage of Confederates happpened to observe a foward collumn of Meade's cavalry.

- The Battle appromently killed 51,112 individuals
- Involving 90,000 Union soldiers and 75,000 Confederates and resulting in
combined casualties of approximately 50,000
- it was faught July 1, 1863
- Robert E. Lee wanted to move this war west, but then decided to take it to the north.
- The Union was capable of getting eight shots per minute to the Conferdates three.
