Introduction
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers is for the people lost or not found during all of the wars in the past. The tomb was built in the 1920's. It is on a hill looking over Washington D.C. It is still standing today. It is heavily gaurded. It is one of the most visited tourist attraction in Washington D.C.

Intresting Facts

            The first man to think of this idea was Walter Whitman in the Civil War. It is a very special offer to gaurd the tomb. It was built on March 4, 1931. To build it it cot 48,000 dollars. It is gaurded no matter what the wheather, hours, or any other thing .It is also home to the changing of the gaurds. The soldiers that lay in this tomb are from the wars World War I and II and also the Korean War.
           
            The medals and flags that used to lie there are now on display at the Memorial Amphitheater. The soldiers that guard the tomb have to say the Sentinels Creed. This states that they will be responsible and will be faithful to serve this tomb. The right side of the tomb is a picture of the National Archives. On the back side of the tomb it reads "Here Rests In Honored An American Soldier Known But To God."

            The marble that is used in the tomb is from Vermont Marble Company. The memorial tomb wieghs 80 tons. The soldiers that guard the tomb are called Sentinels. On the tomb the center of the tomb symbolizes victory. The left side means peace. Gaurds change every 30 minutes. The gloves are moist because to prevent slipping of the rifle in his hand. I think this is the most prestigest memorial ever.
