Introduction
    Jacqueline Lee Bouvier Kennedy Onassis was the American first lady from 1961 to 1963. She was the wife of Presidant John F. Kennedy. He was the 35th presidant of the United States. Jackie was the youngest first lady in nearly 80 years. She was remembered because of her style and elegance. She still remains an American icon of high style and grace. Jackie's apperance caught eye to the Amercian Nation like no spouse had done before. She brought a unique elegance to the role of the first lady.

Who She Was

                Jackie Kennedy was born on July 28, 1929 in Southhampton, New York. Her childhood name was Jacqueline Lee Bouvier. Her father was John Vernon Bouvier and her mother was Janet Lee Bouvier.She was the oldest of three daughters.As a child she loved horseback riding, painting, and writing. Her parents got a divorce in1940.Until she was 15 she went to boarding school. In 1951 Jackie attended George Washington University.She also met John F. Kennedy. At the time he was an popular congressman from Massachuttes. She married him on September 12, 1953 at St Mary's roman Catholic Church in Newport, Rhode Island.He then was elected presidant on January 20, 1961.  Her religious view was catholic. She had three children, two boys named John Jr. and Patrick, and one girl named Caroline. Five years after the death of Presidant John. F. Kennedy, Mrs. Kennedy remarried to Aristotle Onassis. Jackie Kennedy Onassis then settled in New York City, where she worked as an editor for a publishing company. She died on May 19, 1994 in New York, New York.
