The National Cathedral is the heart and soul of our countries religious beliefs. The National Cathedral helps us celebrate the new triumphs of our country and  the hardships that our  country faces.  The Cathedral is the second largest cathedral in the United States. It is more then 30 stories tall. The National Cathedral welcomes more then 700,000 people every year. This cathedral was where several of our president were inaugurated. On the stone they found in Bethlehem (that was used for the cathedral) is written:

"The World was Made of Flesh,
and dwelt among us"
                            John 1:14


   


History and Interesting Facts

Perry L'Enfant's planned the space for the National Cathedral. They started construction in 1907 and finished in 1990. It took 83 years to finish building the National Cathedral. The National Cathedral is where some of our president were inaugurated and some presidents had their funeral. The cathedral has stained glass window of what our country has achieved. The National Cathedral is filled with memories of what our presidents did.  The Gloria in Excelsis Tower (located at The National Cathedral) is the highest pointed in Washington D.C. This cathedral worships all religions.
