Introduction
In
1777-1778 Pierre served under
Washington during the winter he was known to draw portraits of other
offers.
Thomas Jefferson showed his designs to Congress but
then he was dismissed. Pierre was
the
first French man to design in D.C.In 1909 he was honored with a
ceremony at the capitol.

George Washington hired Pierre L'Enfant to design a layout of the city.
