National Archives Museum

Introduction
The National Archives Museum
which is located in downtown Washington D.C. is a museum where
the important documents are located . The Congress first decided to make a museum so all letters and documents would be together in one place. These
documents displayed are the Constitution, Billof Rights, and
Decleration of Independence. The building's rotunda also has a
collection of many photos and artifacts from american history so we learn about the past of American history.

Interesting Facts
- Established in 1934 by Franklin Roosevelt.
- Documents date all the way back to 1775.
- Documnets in the building are related to geneology, american indians, millitary marrines, federal courts, and congress.
- Includes
6 intergated components; charters of freedom, public vaults, William
McGowan Theater, special exibition gallery, and learning center.
- The special documents liike the decleration of independence is kept
- located at the adress- 700 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington D.C.
- This building is located next to the the Navy Memorial.
- Archives Museum is made of light gray granite and limestone.
- video cameras and cameras are not allowed in the building
- This museum is incoprated with NARA which means National Archives and Records Administration
- Was recently renovated in 2003.
- There is no parking for the museum itself, but there are commercial lots nearby.
- There are busses and subways that you can ride to get to the archives museum.

- Labor day- March 14 open 10:00AM- 5PM.
- The building was built in a Greek style .
- There is a small snack bar inside to purchase food
- Home to the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom.
- It is located off the mall of Washington D.C.
- Some of the copies of the documents are legally authentic.
- The archivist of the United States is David Ferriero.
