School Theme -  " We Are All Disciples of Christ"
***********************************************
Nickel Madness total  - $2,588.09   Thank you for the wonderful support on this project!
Box Tops - Be sure to cut and trim each Box Top.   They need to be counted and in a labeled envelope(name and number).  We have volunteers take care of this and it would be too overwhelming to trim and count for our entire school.

In accordance with the proper procedure, please send email/phone messages to the office.  They send us a folder at the end of the day.  You can also send the email regarding a change in the way your child is going home or other pertinent information, to both of us (mwagner@stgabriel.net and kjacks@stgabriel.net).  We just don't  want to miss any important note.  Thanks!

Athletic Rules on Absent Days  -- St. Gabriel and CSAA  policy
If a student is absent on a school day, he or she may not practice, play or participate in any athletic function that night.    A student absent on  Friday is eligible to participate on the weekends.

IMPORTANT - NEW - Success Maker in computer lab:
Click link to view a letter from Mrs. Kremer regarding Success Maker.  Success Maker Letter.

Belts must be worn with shorts and pants at all times.  Belts must be navy blue, brown, tan or black.  For more details, see Handbook.

Behavior Book -  We are using the Behavior Book now.  If your child does not put his/her name on their paper, they will be told to sign the Behavior Book.  To participate in Leopard's Club your child may not receive more than five (5) signings in a month.  Please review the school/classroom rules with your child. Thank you!

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY - Any parent or adult assisting in the classroom, attending fieldtrips or attending a class party must have on file a certificate that they attended the safe environment class and have had a background check.  If you are planning on volunteering or coming into the classroom, you may want to get this done as soon as you can so that you aren't kept from participating. For a complete list of training sessions - http://www.archlou.org/article82506.htm.

Uniform/Spirit Wear . . .Though the uniform sweatshirt and polo design is changing, the ‘old’ designs will be phased out over 2 years. However, hoodies will not be allowed after 2009-2010 school year.

POWERSCHOOL:   When you log-on, please remember to do so as YOU and NOT as your child. Power School lets me know that you are staying informed.  If you have misplaced your log-in information contact Mrs. Kremer at skremer@stgabriel.net.

CHURCH BEHAVIOR:  Please discuss proper church behavior with your child.  We attend mass on Wednesdays.  The children are expected to sit and kneel up straight.  Their feet are not to be on the kneelers.  Please explain and help your child to stand, sit, kneel and make the correct responses in church.  Thank you for your support!

A first grader should be able to tie his/her shoes.  If your child cant tie their shoes, please practice!

Please have your child practice using a whisper voice at home. When doing Centers (reading), we might have every person speaking at the same time.  Therefore, it is vital that we all use a soft whisper (inside) voice.

Lunch time -  11:40-12:00, Recess - 12:00-12:15.  If you plan on coming and having lunch w/ your child, please write a note so we can let the cafeteria know so the appropriate amount is prepared.

Nut/peanut allergies:   Check snack list (birthday treats) for proper snacks.  We eat our snack about 9:15-9:30 most mornings.

Box Tops - Please trim coupons neatly and place in envelope with child's name, 1-Wg(1st grade, Mrs. Wagner) and number of Box Tops.  This is a tremendous help to the parents who count and send to the company. Students must have 15 box tops to get a uniform break.
