Mrs. Beverly Forst is a Shively girl having attended St. Helen Grade School and Angela Merici High School, both in Louisville. Her undergraduate degree is from the University of Kentucky and she has a masters in education from the University of Louisville. Mrs. Forst has been teaching in various capacities throughout the Archdiocese. She is actively involved in both the school and parish, having served on several parish committees, acted as the moderator for the Art Club, and oversaw the 4th and 5th grade Intramural Quick Recall in the spring of 2003, 2004 and 2005. She also worked on curriculum development in language arts for the Archdiocese in the summers of 2001 and 2002. Bev received the Irene Casey Inclusion Award in August 2005. Mrs. Forst and her husband, Jim, have three children, Susan Forst Mersch, 31, Greg, 29, and Paul, 27. Greg lives in Chicago and the Forst family members love to visit and catch a Cubs game. In addition, the Forst clan added two grand dogs to the family, a beagle named Lucy (local) and an English bulldog named Gus (Chicago). Greg and Gina Colando were married in October 2006 in Burr Ridge, Illinois. Their first child and Bev and Jim's first grandchild, Avery Shea Forst, was born on Oct. 10, 2008. She is a sweetie and will mean a large gasoline bill for the Forst family as they travel between Louisville and Chicago. Susan and Matt Mersch
are expecting their first child on April 23, 2009. They have been
married seven years. We'll see how Lucy, a real diva dog, adjusts. Paul and
Jennifer Nash were married in June 2007 at St. Louis Bertrand. Their
first child is due May 1, 2009. This means that Mrs. Forst will have
three grandchildren within 7 months! All three children attended St. Gabriel in their
younger days, where the family continues to be members of the
parish. The Forst children can again all boast the same alma
mater, the University of Dayton. Mrs. Forst enjoys reading,
quilting, scrap booking, yoga, and gardening when she finds the
time.
