Mrs. Angela Langenkamp is a native of Louisville having attended the now former St. Ignatius Grade School and Mercy Academy.  Mrs. Langenkamp graduated from U of L with honors in 1988 and received her Masters in 1991.  Since then she has continued to win repeated recognition.  She won a science grant from Providian in 1997 that enabled her to buy a fully functional torso and a set of six stethoscopes, supplementing her science unit on the systems of the body.  In 1997 she completed the Advanced Catechist Certification requirements and five years later added the Master Catechist Certificate to her list of accomplishments. In 2004, she won an Aegon Teacher Award entitled Minerals and Rocks Are All Around Us!  Through this grant, she was able to purchase rocks and minerals and equipment that allowed the students the opportunity to perform various hands on tests on these samples.  Last year she won her third grant giving her money to supplement a unit on the study of the moon.

Mrs. Langenkamp and her husband Michael have two children, Kaitlin and Eric.  Kaitlin is 17 and Eric will soon be 16.  Kaitlin  is a senior at Male High School and Eric is a sophmore there.  Mrs. Langenkamp has numerous ways to keep her free time full.  Kaitlin has just been driving a year and now  Eric will soon be testing Mrs. Langenkamp's driving skills as she can be found driving as co-pilot to get his required hours of driving time.  Kaitlin is active in French Club,Pep Club, and Beta Club, and enjoys running.  She was able to enjoy and wonderful trip to England and France this summer with her school.  Eric enjoys basketball, plays competitive baseball, and made his freshman Male baseball team where he played as catcher.  He loves to hunt with his dad as well as doing target practice.    All the practices, games, and competitions keeps her hopping.  Any extra time she has she likes to garden and do landscaping, especially with flowers.  She tries to stay current with the latest teaching practices and can be found attending many in-services throughout the summer months.

Says Mrs. Langenkamp, "I feel privileged to be a part of the St. Gabriel community as a teacher.  It has a wonderful staff, great kids, and supportive parents."  We feel privileged to have Mrs. Langenkamp as a part of our community too!
